Soccer Scholar Partners Meet in Final!

Memphis 2017 was another wonderful success! Off the back of last year’s tour, Soccer Scholar had the honour of inviting our UK Partners Pompey ITC to Memphis to compete in the John Talley tournament. Prior to the weekend’s competitive fixtures, both teams played a host of friendly matches. Soccer Scholar Ireland played against old friends, Rhodes University and the University of Memphis, whilst Portsmouth pitted their wits against Memphis City FC and Christian Brothers University.

The tournament itself had an ideal conclusion. Both teams topped their respective groups before navigating through the semi finals and setting up the final that the locals had been craving for. In the first half Soccer Scholar took the lead, holding out until half time. After the break however, Pompey turned the screw and eventually ran out 4-1 winners.
